Privacy Policy
How we collect, handle and store your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This is a courtesy translation. The Portuguese version is the legally binding one. If the two differ, the Portuguese text prevails.
Data is collected by Alojoeste — Gestão de Alojamento Local, VAT number 516706098, with its registered office at Casalinhos de Alfaiate, referred to below as Alojoeste.
Alojoeste regards data privacy as a fundamental part of its business. Alojoeste processes and stores personal data within the European Union (EU) and will at any time demonstrate compliance with EU law, as well as with the principles set out in this document.
This platform is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), a legislative act directly binding on natural and legal persons who process the data of European Union citizens, whether or not they are resident in the EU.
This privacy statement is the responsibility of Alojoeste. The Data Protection Officer (DPO) ensures compliance with the regulation and is involved in all matters relating to the protection of personal data. Their details and how to contact them appear at the end of this document.
Alojoeste is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR, and determines the purpose and means of processing the personal data submitted and collected online.
Principles
Our data protection policy ensures that data is:
- Processed lawfully, fairly and transparently in relation to the data subject ("lawfulness, fairness and transparency");
- Collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes, and not further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes;
- Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which it is processed;
- Accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date, with every reasonable step taken to ensure that inaccurate data is erased or rectified without delay, having regard to the purposes for which it is processed;
- Kept in a form which permits identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed;
- Processed in a manner that ensures its security, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical and organisational measures.
Collection of personal data
To improve your experience of the site and offer you the services you need when you need them, we have to collect some information. We want you to know exactly how we handle the data you entrust to us.
With your permission, we collect the following: first name, surname, telephone number and email address. When you complete the contact form, you can also tell us where the property is and what your enquiry is about, so that we can reply more usefully.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies or similar technologies to give you the best possible experience, to analyse trends, to follow how visitors move through the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. Our cookies record information such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, the files accessed on our site (HTML pages, for example), operating system, and date and time.
Strictly necessary cookies. These are essential to the running
of the site and cannot be switched off. We store only your cookie choice, in a
cookie of our own (alojoeste_consentimento), for 180 days. It
contains no personal data.
Analytics and marketing cookies. These are only set once you accept them in the notice that appears on your first visit. We use Google Tag Manager with Consent Mode v2, which means that until you give your consent, no analytics or advertising tag collects data or writes cookies.
Trustpilot reviews. The reviews section can load a Trustpilot widget, which is a third-party service and sets cookies of its own. For that reason the widget is only loaded once you have accepted cookies.
You can change your mind at any time through cookie settings, or delete cookies directly in your browser settings.
How long we keep data
Alojoeste undertakes to delete data within 24 months at the latest.
Age
By accepting this privacy policy, you confirm that you are 16 years of age or older.
Use of personal data
Alojoeste will contact you to present the goods and services it offers. This processing is based on the consent given by the data subject. Access to personal data is strictly limited to the staff of the data controllers and processors.
Sharing personal data
The data you send us through the contact form is received and forwarded by Pabbly Connect, an automation service acting as a processor on behalf of Alojoeste, which handles the data solely in order to deliver your enquiry to us. It is not used for anything else and is not shared with any other party.
Alojoeste confirms that it does not intend to transfer data to countries outside the scope of the General Data Protection Regulation and, should it do so, it will ask for your consent first.
In certain circumstances, Alojoeste may be required to disclose personal information in response to requests from supervisory authorities, in order to meet the requirements of the GDPR.
Security of processing
We process personal data securely, applying and maintaining technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, disclosure or unauthorised access — where processing involves the transmission of data over a network — and against all other unlawful forms of processing.
Access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data
As a data subject, you have the right to request access to the data concerning you, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You may also restrict how your data is processed, object to that processing, and request that your data be transferred to another provider.
You may also seek clarification from the Data Protection Officer, or lodge a complaint with the CNPD, Portugal's data protection authority, whenever you believe your rights are being breached.
Marketing emails
Data controllers are permitted, after explicit consent, to send marketing emails to users of the site. You may withdraw that consent at any time, using the link provided for that purpose in every email sent.

The prices shown for products and services are supplied by third parties. Alojoeste is responsible for keeping them current and consistent with the prices shown on other platforms.
If you spot an error or anything that looks wrong, please contact Alojoeste so that it can be put right.
